Tanzania Integrated Engineering Solution (TIES) is looking for an Intern Geologist to join our innovative and dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or final-year geology student to gain hands-on, supervised exposure to real mining and exploration projects. • Participate in fieldwork under supervision, including geological mapping, soil/rock sampling, trenching, and core logging.
• Support the geological team in exploration programs, including data collection and geochemical/geophysical surveys.
• Maintain detailed and accurate field records, including daily reports and logs.
• Assist in the execution of drilling programs (RC and/or diamond drilling) under the guidance of senior geologists.
• Learn to process and interpret geological data using mapping software such as ArcGIS, Leapfrog, and Surfer, with guidance from experienced staff.
• Assist in the development of geological models and resource estimation under supervision.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mining engineers and metallurgists.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and stakeholder updates.
• Recent graduate (or final-year student) or nearing completion of a bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related field from a recognized institution.
• No prior professional experience required; practical exposure through fieldwork, coursework, or industrial attachment in gold or base metals geology is an added advantage.
• Basic familiarity with Geological Software Packages such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Surpac, or Micromine is an added advantage; willingness to learn is essential.
• Candidates who progressed from a Diploma to a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or a related field will have an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of geological mapping and geophysical survey techniques is an added advantage.
• Competency in Microsoft software (Excel, Word and Project)
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Eagerness to learn, adaptability, and willingness to work in remote field/site conditions.
