Dr. Makusa has more than 15 years’ experience as Geotechnical engineer with specialization in Civil and Structural Engineering, Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering.

He has an extensive experience on design and construction of Geotechnical Structures. He has been a lead consulting engineer for several project from coping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies of civil and structural works to geotechnical design and construction.

He has also led several big consultancy projects on Geotechnical Investigation and characterization of tailings for Buzwagi, Bulyanhulu and North Mara Gold Mines.

He has also and extensive experience in the application of key softwares such as MIDAS GTS NX, midas Civil (Bridge), midas Gen (Building), GTS NX (Geo technical), STAAD and PLAXIS.

He holds BSc. Civil and structural engineering from the University of Dar es Salaam, MSc. degree in Civil Engineering and PhD in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering, both from Lulea University of Technology, Sweden.

He is registered with Tanzania Engineers Registration Board (ERB) as consulting engineer as well as member of Institution of Engineers Tanzania (IET).

He is also registered with Ministry of Water as Approved Professional Personal.
